Eval q. 4: TECHNOLOGY

My group and I have used many media platforms to construct our product through research, planning and construction of the main media product. We have used media platforms like Twitter and Youtube to research certain ways distributors and large film companies allow audiences to become aware of their film. We have used other smaller media platforms like, Blogger and Slideshare to present our work on research during the process of the group researching. We have then used places like trello to pin ideas onto a board where the whole group can see making it easy for the whole group to plan things together in an organised space which is easy to navigate and simple to use. For the construction we have used certain software and equipment to create our media product, we have used editing software like IMovie and Adobe Aftereffects to merge the filming we have done using equipment like a Canon camera and a Manfrotto tripod.

RESEARCH

PIKTOCHART We used Piktochart to present information in an appealing infograpahic format.
BLOGGER
Blogger is being used to display all of our work and post what we have done.
TWITTER We used twitter to have a look at real movie posts to get an idea of what we could do as well as see how they market the product, you can see a twitter feed that I have embeded on the side of my blog.

SLIDESHARE I used slideshare in order to present my research for film posters where I analysed the film poster for the movie world war z, This easy and simple technology allowed me to present this research in a clean and professional way.

PLANNING

PINTEREST pinterest enabled me to present a collection of pictures that are useful in planning which characters we are using in our final movie trailer, it also allowed us to plan out different scenarios within our trailer as well as provide visuals of what we might have wanted our final product to look like.

 FACEBOOK
To organise shoots by contacting cast and crew with details of an 'event'

HUE WEBCAM for stop frame animation, we will use stop motion animation to create our production company's ident that we will used after the trailer.

EDITING In IMovie we used the trim tool in order to shorten some clips in order to not show the takes that failed. We also trimmed in order to create harder cuts which would create a fast paced setting, we used this particularly in the scene when the boys were running towards the bunker.

In the flashback scene we used black and white filters in order to show that it wasn't in the present day, this was used to integrate the backstory into the trailer and to indicate the different time period. We also used slow motion in this scene in order to anchor the meaning of the flashback and allow the audience to absorb the significance of this scene.

Slow motion was also used in the running scene as the backing track wasn't too fast paced, this is why we decided to slow down this scene as it would merge nicely with the backing track.

GREENSCREEN Our green screen scenes within our trailer involved a complex process of layering different footage and images in order to create the scene that we wanted to look realistic. We used an image from google images that had plane windows with greenscreens on them which we then inserted footage of a plane flying over London. This created the effect that our actor was up in an aeroplane flying over London.

PHOTOSHOP I used photoshop in order to create my movie poster and magazine cover by using tools such as the magic eraser, patch heal tool and cropping. I also used processes like inserting gradients and changing colours on certain images.
